Modern Technologies

The Bank maintains the implementation of an integrated strategy to develop its activities and services for the sake of rendering high quality banking products. This confirms the Bank's ambitions as an advanced entity working under an international banking institution and strongly competing for the leadership position locally and regionally. The following are some features of the technological development plan:

Completing the Universal Core Banking Solutions Application:

Finical Application was completely installed in all the Bank's units and branches. This ensured smooth flow of work between branches, thus reducing the actual time of transactions and the efforts made for reconciliation of transactions among branches. Moreover, this application unifies work procedures and methods in the Bank and provides the required level of supervision on the Bank's transactions through centrally monitoring the transactions.

Establishing Data Center:

The Bank completed an advanced database represented in a computer center in Cairo having a central database for customers and connects all the current and potential branches all over the country. The center is also applying high quality standards through an advanced communication network.

The Center was furnished with a bunch of international management and control software (TIVOLI), to secure the utmost safety of data and the universal core banking solutions applied in the Bank. A Disaster Recovery Site is under establishment in Alexandria Region to be operated in case of unexpected crises.

Completing the Plan of Connecting Branches with the Communication Network

  • Many branches have been connected to each other using permanent lines according to the most modern communications technology (MPLS). This system allows exchanging information, VOIP and Video Conferences. Connecting the other branches and offices is underway with the capability of extending the geographical area of the network in the future. This extension shall be done without facing any problems in case of the availability of the required communication devices.
  • The core banking solutions were connected to ATM services.
  • The core banking solutions were also connected to the international banking services such as SWIFT, services related to international credit cards and the Dealing Room.
  • Using the core banking solutions on the Bank's intranet and the internet to provide banking services to the customers from all over the world with complete security.
  • Ensuring the optimum protection to the core banking solutions and to the database.

Developments and Accomplishments in the Field of ATMs, P.O.S and Cash 4 all Network

  • The Bank owns a huge network of ATMs bearing the Bank's name and logo and operating in good locations all over the country. Such ATMs allow dealing with all credit cards, and a number of them render the cash deposit service.
  • ATMs include machines of Cash 4 all model, which are the most modern in the world. It is noteworthy that such machines are able to operate in all weathers. This is in addition to the first ATM in Egypt to be used from inside the customer's car "Drive Through".
  • The Bank's branches were furnished with P.O.S. machines to be used in cash disbursement operations of all types of visa cards issued by international banks in addition to the Bank's cards. P.O.S. machines are also to be used in repayment of customers' liabilities.

The Bank's Plan to Establish Electronic /Mobile Branches

» Electronic Branches
Electronic branches are one of the most significant features of the Bank's technological development in the coming phase. Three electronic branches were launched in 2008.

» Mobile Branches
Mobile branches are mobile air-conditioned vehicles equipped with the latest technologies. Each mobile branch has one ATM.  The activities of those branches will be concentrated on offering ATM services in the remote areas such as 10th of Ramadan City and 6th of October City.


Establishing a Location in the "Smart Village"

It was contracted to establish a location in the Financial District, the Smart Village, 6th of October City, on about 1500m2. Such a location will consist of two underground floors one of which will be specified for the Bank's Operations Center and the Information Technology Division. This location is to be one of the most modern branches in Egypt and will be inaugurated in the last quarter of 2010.
