1st of December, 2018: Under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Solidarity, ALEXBANK reaffirms its position as leading partner of the creative economy and local artisans, by supporting the Egyptian pavilion at one of the most prestigious arts exhibitions in the world, the “L’Artigiano in Fiera”; through its flagship CSR initiative “Ebda3 Men Masr”.
ALEXBANK’s first international exhibition gives Egyptian artisans the chance to showcase their products at a global scale in Europe and increases their export opportunities. This is a reflection of the leading role and the strategic plan ALEXBANK and its long term partner the Ministry of Social Solidarity have envisioned for the handcrafts sector in Egypt.
H.E. Dr. Ghada Wali, the Minister of Social Solidarity attended the Egyptian pavilion opening ceremony as an honorary guest to the exhibition, along with Mr. Antonio Intiglietta, Chairman of Ge.Fi.Spa, L’Artigiano in Fiera, Mr. Dante Campioni, Managing Director and CEO of ALEXBANK, Ms. Laila Hosny, Head of CSR & Sustainable Development Office at ALEXBANK among other respectful governmental, media and other representatives.
A memorandum of agreement was signed between the Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity and L’Artigiano in Fiera directly after the opening ceremony, highlighting a plan to cooperate for the sustainable development of economic activities, including knowledge exchange, and facilitate the export opportunities for the Egyptian handmade products across Europe.
In her speech, HE Dr. Wali said “Egypt’s participation in one of Europe’s biggest arts and crafts events is a huge step towards promoting Egyptian heritage and artistic crafts. It also sets the stage for Egypt as the next honorary country of this exhibition. It is my pleasure to witness the opening of the Egyptian Pavilion, as a result of the cooperation between MOSS and ALEXBANK’s Ebda3 Men Masr” initiative whose efforts are directed to empower Egyptian artisans to reach more prominent local and international platforms”.
“Our Participation in this exhibition comes within the framework of the Ministry's strategy to create marketing opportunities both locally and internationally for craftsmen and associations of productive families,” added Wali.
“It is a great honor to be the strategic partner to the Egyptian pavilion in such a monumental event that sees over a million visitor annually. Our participation comes as part of ALEXBANK’s unique strategy aiming at Creating Shared Value when it comes to sustainability and community development. This is modeled from the best practices of Intesa Sanpaolo Group that we are proud of being a part of,” said Dante Campioni, Managing Director and CEO of ALEXBANK.
“This exhibition is the ideal continuation to “Ebda3 Men Masr” and is an exceptional marketing opportunity for Egyptian artisans, as it exposes them to the international markets, hence aiding to the establishment of commercial ties with Italian buyers. We are particularly happy for the given opportunity, as we see this as a logic development for our role of “economic bridge” between Italy and Egypt,” added Campioni.
Further commenting on the initiative, Laila Hosny, ALEXBANK’s Head of CSR and Sustainable Development office explained, “We are proud of our immense partnership with the Ministry of Social Solidarity and the result of combining our efforts in creating shared values, and empowering local artisans to reach global markets, starting export activities.
