Employee Engagements

The CSR & Sustainable Development Office engages ALEXBANK employees across all locations in the design of ALEXBANK’s social investment programs. As part of the annual competition, staff members propose ideas for social projects which then undergo a selection process. The projects with the highest votes win a donation. To date, ALEXBANK has funded a total of 26 projects across Egypt representing all regions.

A monthly campaign launched in 2014, “Those Who Need Us” is a channel through which employees can suggest and propose volunteering opportunities. Over the past 8 years, visits included, 57357 Children Cancer Hospital, Leprosy Colony Abu Zaabal, Awaad Island in Aswan and others with 35% of the staff engaged. This is in addition to organizing a four blood donation campaigns yearly in collaboration with the Association of Friends of the National Cancer-Free Initiative (AFNCI).

A monthly pop-up bazaar initiated in July of 2018, “Forsa” (“Chance”) is a unique ALEXBANK happening that places special emphasis on a different theme ever basis. The bazaar provides a platform for homegrown enterprises to promote their skills and showcase their merchandise. Different exhibitors reflecting the various themes are chosen each month, presenting their products and offering the ALEXBANK community with a unique shopping experience every month. More than 150 exhibitors participated in our “Forsa” bazaars so far. Themes included: “Summer”, “Back to School”, and “Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness”.

As part of encouraging employees to give back, ALEXBANK organized its annual Christmas visit to 57357 Children’s Cancer Hospital. Employees were given background information on the hospital and a tour of its spaces. They decorated the halls to spread holiday cheer and gifted the children with presents to put a smile on their faces.

On the occasion of International Volunteer Day, The CSR and SD office sought to thank and encourage ALEXBANK employees who were involved in volunteering activities throughout 2019. Volunteers received gifts by Upfuse and Kefaya Plastic, both Egyptian start-ups that use recycled materials. Over 100 employees were recognized across different branches in Cairo and governorates.

ALEXBANK organized its biannual blood donation campaign. In partnership with 57357 Hospital’s affiliate, the Association of Friends of the National Cancer-Free Initiative, over 30 employees donated blood in December over two blood runs, held in El Gomhoureya Branch and Smart Villa Building.
